The Most Dangerous Drugs

Drugs have never been absent in our lives, but its type and level of use have varied over time. Legally, drugs are chemical substances used to treat diseases in animals and even man. At present, drugs are chemical substances formulated by mixing known substances and prepared for suitable administration or use. Most common of these drugs are ointments, injections, pills, tablets, creams, eye drops and so on. Drugs are referred to as medicine when taken to prevent or cure diseases.

Illegal drugs also have medical uses. Morphine and heroin when properly used can be excellent analgesics which can be used without causing addiction. Marijuana is currently being tested for its possible usefulness in multiple sclerosis. Cocaine in former times has been used as local anesthesia by dentists. Over time, the use of this drugs became harmful because either they were wrongly prescribed or overprescribed.

Heroin is also tagged as smack, skag and junk. Large doses of heroin can be fatal. It can be used as murder weapon in suicides. Heroin has the ability to produce feelings of euphoria, drowsiness, sleepiness, nervousness and relaxation. It can be administered in number of ways like snorting and injection.

2.Cocaine

Cocaine is known from street names coke, blow, C, flake, snow, and toot. It can be dissolved in water or inject but it is most commonly snorted or inhaled. Dentists use it for anesthesia while athletes take it believing it enhances performance. Cocaine makes one feel more alert, less physically tired and more euphoric but other more serious effects include disturbance in muscular coordination, distorts perception of ability, irregularities in heartbeat, high blood pressure, mental seizures and blockage of coronary arteries.

3.Barbiturates

Popular names of barbiturates are yellow jackets, blues, reds, rainbows and Amy's. Prolonged use of this drug results in habituation, agitation, insomnia, seizures and confusional psychosis.
